Daytime Counted Thread and Needlepoint: The Beaded Bandolier Bags of the Ojibwe

Bandolier bags are the large, heavily beaded shoulder bags made and worn by the Ojibwe of northern Minnesota. The Minnesota History Center has one of the largest collections of these works, and in 2017 published Marcia G. Anderson’s book, A Bag Worth a Pony. Using the book as a primary source, Denise Beusen will summarize the history, forms, structure, and motifs that give these works their lasting visual appeal.

This group meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday from 10am - 12pm.
